"Ontario Bans Celebrities, Athletes From Appearing in Commercials for Sportsbooks”

This article talks about recent regulations passed in Ontario regarding the marketing of legal sportsbooks. Everyone seems to be fed up with the constant advertising and it looks like Ontario is one of the first major markets to put an end to it. This recent ban only stops celebrities and athletes from being part of the advertising, but I believe it will eventually expand to how many commercials/minutes a sportsbook can advertise in a given period.

I recently stumbled across this episode of the Zero Latency podcast, which is hosted by Brad Allen and Alun Bowden. In this episode, they are joined by Joe Brennan, the executive president of the recently opened and highly anticipated Prime Sports. Joe discusses the launch of the sportsbook in Ohio and what the sports bettor should expect. This is a great listen and I’m really excited about the Prime Sports future.

This tweet from @RyanHarbinson puts William Hill on blast for a ridiculous move they pulled for a Ryder Cup prop they posted. Ryan placed a bet for Nicolai Højgaard to be selected to the Euro Ryder Cup team at Even odds. He was correct, but William Hill settled it by only giving him 33 euros in profit stating that since 6 total players were selected, they settled it as a dead heat. The problem is that’s not how the bet was described. We’ll see how this plays out..
